A Family Legacy Rooted in the North Georgia Soil

Quinn’s Greenhouse didn’t begin as a business idea — it began as work. Our family has been farming this land in McCaysville, Georgia since 1919, learning its soil, weather, and seasons the hard way through droughts, floods, freezes, and good years in between. Long before greenhouses filled the field, this land was already teaching us what grows here — and what doesn’t.

In 1973, that knowledge took shape as what would come to be known as  Quinn’s Greenhouse, starting small with a produce stand and a single greenhouse attached. What grew from that humble beginning was never about trends or volume, but about growing plants the right way and treating customers like neighbors. Each generation — from Lon and Evelyn Quinn, to Van and Cindy Quinn, and now to us — has carried that same responsibility forward.

Today, as fourth-generation growers, we’re proud to serve the Copper Basin, Blue Ridge, Blairsville, and surrounding mountain communities. We grow many of our plants ourselves and carefully select the rest, always with our Zone 6/7 mountain climate in mind. The advice we share isn’t pulled from a book or a screen — it’s been earned here, season after season. We’re grateful to still be doing what our family has always done — growing good plants, sharing honest advice, and welcoming folks who want to put down roots of their own

Neighbors Growing for Neighbors

Quinn’s Greenhouse has always been about people just as much as plants. We don’t grow for trends or truckloads — we grow for our neighbors. Many of the folks who shop with us have moved here looking for something real, and we understand that feeling, because this land and this work have shaped our family for generations.

Meet the Generations

Quinn’s is a fourth-generation growing family, and each generation has left its fingerprints on this place. Lon and Evelyn Quinn began with a small produce stand and greenhouse, growing what they could and selling it to folks they knew by name. Van and Cindy Quinn took over in 1987 and expanded the operation into a true greenhouse business, building selection, improving quality, and strengthening the connection with the community.

Today, operations are led by Gabriel and Ginger Montgomery, continuing the hands-on approach that has always defined Quinn’s — growing many of our plants ourselves, selecting the rest carefully, and never selling something we don’t believe in. And now, the next generation is already taking root, with Dade Montgomery learning the craft and helping shape what Quinn’s will become for future gardeners.

Our Greenhouse Family

Just as important as our family is the greenhouse family who works alongside us. Many of our employees have been here for years — even decades — and they bring experience, care, and honesty to everything they do. We’re proud to have team members who aren’t afraid to tell you what will work, what won’t, and why.

When you ask a question at Quinn’s, you’re not getting a script or a sales pitch. You’re getting advice from someone who has planted it, watered it, watched it struggle, and celebrated when it thrived — often right here in the same soil you’re gardening in.

At Quinn’s, we don’t just want to sell you a plant — we want you to feel confident, successful, and welcome every time you walk through our greenhouses. That’s how neighbors grow together.
